2.) Now I have actually done this before and I love it, but it wasn't very cost efficient so I didn't make many.
The trick to these gel candles is what you put in it. In order to color them you need a special dye, when I first tried I used food coloring, clothing dye, wax and finally liquid dye. Wax worked but its not suggested and the color was sooooo lighta dn cloudy. You need to use a concentrated liquid dye in order to get the nice color you are looking for and for the gel to be clear. Also use liquid to scent your candles as well.
When you are ready to pour your gel wax make sure anything at the bottom of your jar is secured and wont move when tilted. When pouring the gel into your jar pour it at an angle (like you pour beer out of a tap) and it will decrease the bubbles in your gel. You can find more instructions on-line but those are some tips that I learned first hand that the other sites may or may not share.
