We have a different version of Elf on the Shelf his name is Christopher and he comes with his own story you can read to the kids as to where he came from and why he is in our home, it's great! My kids just love him! This year I decided to do something a little different... instead of just having him pop into our home he came with something.
When the kids woke up on the found Christopher and he was holding a sign that said: "I'm back! Will you be... Naughty or Nice?" and above him was three close-pins with the kids initials on it and a cards that had "Naughty" on one side and "Nice" on the other. It's been great turning the card over when the kids are misbehaving and warning them what they are on their way to getting into trouble that Chirstopher is going to be turning their card to Naughty and reporting back to Santa. They REALLY don't want their card to say Naughty.
I highly recommend for small kids!
